The Messenger Is Shutting down because of…
The Messenger is shutting down after it launched w/ $50M in funding last May. It was built on the flawed premise that a big, generic news audience has value. No severance to its 300 employees, who were paid above market wage. Staffers filed class-action lawsuit as a result!
Universal Music Group removed all songs from TikTok. They control ~1/3 of the global music market. TikTok "attempted to bully us into accepting a deal worth less than the previous deal" So now existing videos that used music from Universal’s artists have had their audio muted entirely.
Threads now has 130M MAUs. And YouTube Now Has 100M Premium and Music Subscribers and! now X is Experimenting with New Options to Sort Post Replies At 2B total active YouTube users, only 5% pay. X is testing a new option that would enable you to sort the replies on any post. Interesting!
